Process Engineer Intern (Summer 2027) (Specialty Materials)

Location: Munising, Michigan, United States; onsite at the Munising Mill

What you will do

• Support the Operations team with process efficiency improvements, cost-saving initiatives, and technology advancement.
• Work with engineers to identify the root causes of process defects in paper- and film-based materials.
• Participate in production line operations, customer trials, and projects with defined deliverables.
• Attend mill leadership meetings and complete assigned follow-up tasks.
• Help create or modify standard operating procedures with leadership.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and available for a 10+ week onsite internship beginning in May 2027.
• Currently enrolled in a degree program focused on Paper Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Completed at least one full year of coursework; two full years are preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• Ability to analyze information, communicate findings effectively, and collaborate in a multifunctional team.
• A minimum 3.0 GPA in the academic field of study is preferred.
