Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Milpitas, California, United States; onsite role.

Base pay: $141,300–$207,233 annually.

What you will do

• Define product requirements and conduct feasibility studies for mechanical systems.
• Develop conceptual and detailed designs, drawings, and 3D solid models using Creo or similar tools.
• Perform fluid, thermal, vibrational, tolerance stack-up, and FEA analysis.
• Lead design reviews, prototype procurement, assembly, testing, and system integration.
• Create assembly and test procedures and release documentation for manufacturing.
• Collaborate with optics, systems, manufacturing, and service engineering teams while managing suppliers and resolving product issues.

Requirements

• Senior-level mechanical design experience with a doctorate and 5+ years, master's degree and 8+ years, or bachelor's degree and 12+ years of related experience.
• Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals covering machine design, statics, mechanics of materials, fluid flow, heat transfer, materials, and fabrication methods.
• Experience with precision machine design, 3D solid modeling, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Knowledge of machining, welding, sheet metal fabrication, castings, and 3D printing.
• Basic knowledge of vacuum systems; experience with opto-mechanical systems, inspection equipment, motion controls, tooling, test fixtures, supplier management, or new product introduction is relevant.
• Strong communication, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.
