Director of Event Tech II - Westin Edina Galleria (Audio-Visual Events)

Location: Edina, Minnesota, United States. On-site work in a hotel/convention center environment, with possible work at multiple hotel locations, irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability.

Salary: $56,092–$72,920 per year.

What you will do

• Manage venue revenue, profitability, labor, equipment sub-rentals, billing, forecasting, and location P&L.
• Oversee daily event operations, including scheduling, equipment setup, operation, strikes, inventory control, and safety procedures.
• Develop sales strategies with regional leadership, prepare proposals and quotes, and support upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
• Build relationships with customers, venue personnel, vendors, and internal departments while monitoring event execution and guest satisfaction.
• Guide technicians through audio-visual troubleshooting and act as the on-site technical expert when required.
• Manage staffing, performance, selection, training, coaching, and ongoing development of team members.

Requirements

• 3+ years of audio-visual experience in a live-show environment.
• 2+ years of operations or supervisory experience.
• 3+ years of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of audio-visual equipment, computer hardware, Microsoft Office, internet tools, and company software systems.
• Effective leadership, customer satisfaction, sales, and problem-solving abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience; a valid driver’s license is required for team members who operate company vehicles.
