TFS Dispatcher IV - Aircraft Dispatcher

Location: College Station, Texas, United States. Onsite dispatch-center role with a 10-hour rotating schedule, including weekends and holidays; shifts may increase to 12 hours during periods of increased activity. Occasional overnight travel may be required, and emergency response is an essential duty.

Texas A&M Forest Service supports statewide aviation operations, wildfire response, emergency dispatch, and related field programs.

What you will do

• Dispatch and monitor aviation, wildfire, and other incident-response resources.
• Coordinate resource availability, weather data, duty times, fire activity, fire behavior, and response-area operations.
• Maintain dispatch records, logs, fire reports, open-records requests, and operational situational awareness.
• Communicate with field personnel and supervisors and support aviation operations statewide.
• Process FAMIS transactions, mileage reports, travel vouchers, purchase orders, credit cards, vehicle logs, time reports, and assigned equipment.
• Participate in readiness training and assist with incident and wildfire-management training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ten years of experience in dispatch and office administration duties.
• Required NWCG Aircraft Dispatcher qualification.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to use dispatch software and equipment, multitask, and work cooperatively.
• Availability for rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, after-hours on-call duties, and reporting to dispatch within 30 minutes when requested.

Nice to have

• Formal education in emergency-response dispatch or communications.
• Wildland firefighting or emergency-response dispatch experience.
• Familiarity with state radio and dispatch protocols.
• Experience using PC systems for emergency-incident reporting and tracking.
