Fire Command Center Operator - Maintenance Dispatcher

What you will do

• Monitor emergency alarm systems, including EST3, Cheetah, and Det-Tronics suppression systems.
• Receive and dispatch calls through telephone, two-way radio, and computer-aided devices.
• Record call dispositions, work orders, labor logs, inventories, and activity reports in HotSOS, logbooks, and related systems.
• Notify fire departments, internal departments, governing agencies, and utilities about emergencies.
• Maintain understanding of Fire Command Center equipment, fire life safety panels, paging systems, fire phones, alarms, supervisory signals, and smoke management systems.
• Follow safety standards and maintain current industry knowledge through training.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a high-volume dispatch center is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent and minimum age of 21 are required.
• Previous experience with a Fire Command Center fire board panel is required.
• Fluent English is required; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
• Proficiency with a personal computer and Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, is required.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, administrative, communication, multitasking, and attention-to-detail skills are required.

Nice to have

• Previous alarm monitoring or emergency dispatch experience.
• Knowledge of HotSOS and Opera.
• Additional dispatch, office, administrative, customer service, or related experience.
