Remote Medical Director, Pharmacy

Salary: $236,500–$449,300 per year

What you will do

• Support the Chief Medical Director in directing medical management, utilization management, quality improvement, and credentialing functions.
• Lead medical review activities for utilization review, quality assurance, complex services, unusual procedures, and medical necessity appeals.
• Conduct rounds for high-risk patients and coordinate care with care management teams and clinical partners.
• Develop and implement performance improvement, medical management, physician education, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Analyze utilization studies, provider practice patterns, claims, benefit components, and clinical quality trends.
• Collaborate with providers, clinical teams, consultants, appeals teams, and physician committees while supporting network development and market expansion.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor or Doctor of Osteopathy degree.
• Board certification in a medical specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialists or the American Osteopathic Association’s Department of Certifying Board Services.
• Current unrestricted state license as an MD or DO, without government program restrictions, limitations, or sanctions.
• Active medical practice.
• Utilization Management experience and knowledge of quality accreditation standards are preferred.
• Internal or Family Medicine certification and experience managing care for culturally diverse populations are preferred.
