What you will do

• Create a positive, disciplined, and safe classroom environment that supports student motivation and learning.
• Deliver Corrections Officer career technical training using multimodal teaching approaches and relevant lesson plans.
• Align curriculum with industry standards and Training Achievement Records, and maintain classroom and shop readiness.
• Evaluate student progress, maintain attendance and case records, and prepare required reports and forms.
• Develop industry partnerships supporting work-based learning, internships, job placement, and other student outcomes.
• Support students in earning credentials and pursuing employment, military service, college, apprenticeships, or advanced training.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Certification, licensure, or accreditation in the state where the center is located, or accreditation through a professional trade organization.
• Experience working with diverse youth.
• Prior experience with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license in the state of employment and an acceptable driving record.
