Extrusion I - 3rd Shift

Location: Reed City, Michigan, United States; onsite, third shift

Apogee Architectural Metals designs and manufactures aluminum framing, windows, storefronts, curtainwall, and entrance systems, with capabilities spanning engineering, extrusion, finishing, fabrication, and assembly.

What you will do

• Work as part of an extrusion press crew to produce aluminum products according to sales orders and production schedules.
• Set and change extrusion dies, prepare tooling, verify temperatures, and maintain proper clearances.
• Advance and stretch extrusions to established dimensions while measuring results with HMI systems.
• Operate saws, cut extrusions to order, transfer material without damage, and move products to ovens.
• Perform quality checks, record gauge readings and production data, and report non-conforming material or shortages.
• Follow documented procedures, use required PPE, and keep the extrusion area clean and safe.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand for at least 8 hours and repeatedly bend, lift, push, pull, and twist while carrying product.
• Ability to repeatedly lift at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to accurately read tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and work instructions.
• Basic math, computer, and small hand-tool skills.
• Reliable transportation, excellent attendance, and crane operations training.
