What you will do

• Generate story ideas and develop sources on an assigned beat.
• Report and write articles for the website and email subscribers.
• Cover breaking news, earnings, features, interviews, and newsletters.
• Research financial statements and quickly build knowledge of technology sectors and companies.
• Contribute to proprietary startup databases, including coverage of generative artificial intelligence companies.
• Collaborate with experienced reporters and develop beat-reporting skills through training and one-on-one coaching.

Requirements

• Current college or graduate student planning to pursue full-time business, technology, or financial reporting.
• Experience reporting for a college newspaper or another news outlet.
• Ability to generate ideas and develop sources on a beat.
• Interest in breaking news, financial statements, technology companies, and business reporting.
• Strong reporting and phone-interviewing skills.
• Ability to work in San Francisco or New York.
