Forward Deployed Engineer (New York, AI)

Salary: $185,000–$255,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Embed directly with insurance customers to integrate hirify.global's software into their systems.
• Translate client problems into technical approaches and working solutions.
• Build external-facing APIs and integrations with third-party systems.
• Adapt implementations to customer systems and data requirements.
• Combine software development, analytics, relationship building, and strategy to drive customer results.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and customer success while owning delivery.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, ideally including direct customer work.
• Strong fundamentals in system design, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Python experience; strong candidates from other object-oriented backgrounds are also considered.
• Experience with serverless technologies such as Lambda and EC2, asynchronous workflows, and cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and performance tuning, ideally PostgreSQL.
• Ability to own projects, communicate proactively, experiment, measure results, and iterate quickly.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLMs or generative AI.
• Experience with distributed systems.
