Sr. Design Engineering Specialist (Machine Controls)

Location: Sanford, North Carolina, United States. Onsite work is required five days per week, Monday through Friday. Domestic relocation assistance is available. Travel is up to 20%.

Salary: $147,760–$221,640 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the performance, tuning, calibration, and integration of machine-control systems for CTL and SSL products.
• Develop and validate control systems, technical requirements, performance targets, and validation plans.
• Use customer feedback, competitive benchmarking, field data, and engineering analysis to identify product improvements.
• Coordinate hydraulics, engine, electrical, software, product, commercial, and manufacturing activities.
• Support factory testing, production-machine calibration, and robust design for manufacturability.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across complex product-development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience solving complex problems involving machine controls, integrated software, hydraulic systems, and other machine systems.
• Knowledge of product-development activities including requirements, design, integration, testing, production, and support.
• Experience with on-machine tuning, control-system performance, and system-level technical ownership.
• Ability to interpret and evaluate implementations developed in MATLAB, C, and Simulink.
• Ability to work onsite in Sanford, North Carolina, five days per week; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Previous hydraulic system design or testing experience.
• Experience using Vector CANape to adjust control parameters and validate machine behavior.
• Experience leading complex technology, performance, or integration projects through production.
