Ports Electrification Intern

Location: Houston, TX, United States. This is an in-office role; remote work may be available when needed, but regular office attendance is encouraged. Travel to hirify.global offices, project sites, and supplier sites may be required.

What you will do

• Apply engineering principles to port electrification challenges in multidisciplinary project environments.
• Conduct electrification engineering work in accordance with the National Electrical Code, quality objectives, and client needs.
• Collect, review, and analyze engineering data to support project objectives.
• Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, figures, diagrams, models, and drawings.
• Assist with detailed project design and coordinate with technicians, engineers, senior engineers, and designers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Commitment to engineering excellence and interest in the maritime industry.
• Must work from the Houston office; hirify.global will not provide employment visa sponsorship or participate in STEM OPT for this position.
• Applicants must submit an official or unofficial academic transcript.

Nice to have

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Previous co-op or internship experience.
• Interest in port power distribution, shore power, high mast lighting, ship-to-shore cranes, and cargo-handling equipment charging systems.
