Mechanical Engineering Intern (Transfer Switch)

Location: Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA; occasional travel to other hirify.global facilities may be required.

What you will do

• Support engineers with special design requests for transfer-switch and generator products.
• Create and maintain 2D cross sections, 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, templates, and bills of materials.
• Support product development plans, including schedules, product costs, and design inputs.
• Design, test, and validate standard components and product specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to improve manufacturability.
• Provide technical support, recommendations, and solutions for assigned cross-functional projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Civil Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Pro-E and/or AutoCAD.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work 15–20 hours during the school year and full time during school breaks.
• Ability to occasionally travel and perform work involving standing, walking, computer use, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
