Electrical Controls and Maintenance Engineer

Location: Springfield, Massachusetts, USA; full-time, on-site

Salary: USD 90,000–130,000 per year

What you will do

• Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electronic control systems and related manufacturing hardware.
• Diagnose system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and update control logic or firmware.
• Support new equipment commissioning, process improvements, and system upgrades.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance teams.
• Document completed work, report issues accurately, and follow safety and quality standards.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of electronics, electrical control systems, PLCs, sensors, and industrial automation.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing control panels, instrumentation, and related equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field or 5+ years of experience designing, fabricating, and commissioning electro-mechanical equipment in industrial electrical controls.
• Level 1 or 2 Massachusetts license to perform electrical work.
• Advanced PLC programming skills, including creating blank projects using ladder logic, and knowledge of digital, analog, Fieldbus, Ethernet, and serial I/O interfaces.

Nice to have

• Experience with control software, HMI interfaces, or SCADA systems.
• Background in manufacturing, industrial, or product development environments.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
