Director Generation Planning (Electric Utility)

Salary: $160,100–$240,100 per year

What you will do

• Own and deliver the Integrated Resource Plan and oversee long-term demand, generation capacity, and large-load portfolio analytics.
• Lead technical end-to-end modeling and scenario planning for long-term supply and demand plans.
• Manage department personnel, the O&M budget, and related corporate O&M and CAPEX impacts.
• Partner with Finance, Transmission, and Gas Planning to integrate generation planning into broader system planning.
• Prepare and coordinate testimony, forecasts, and regulatory filings for CPCN, IURC, energy-market, and cost-recovery proceedings.
• Respond to data requests and participate in audits, regulatory proceedings, and government investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the electric utility, gas utility, or a related industry.
• Extensive experience with load forecasting, generation resource and capacity planning, and scenario planning.
• Experience leading a complex department with market-facing and regulatory processes.
• Knowledge of regulatory processes, rates, tariffs, cost allocation, billing, gas operations, bulk power generation, wholesale power markets, and renewable and thermal generation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.

• Master’s degree in Economics, Data Science, or a related field.
