Sr Project Manager I, Ferndale Refinery (Oil & Gas)

Location: Ferndale, Washington, United States; onsite at the Ferndale Refinery. The role includes field and site-maintenance activities, travel up to 5%, extended hours, work near high-temperature machinery and hazardous chemicals, and climbing ladders and stairs up to 200 feet.

Base salary: $141,300–$172,700 per year.

What you will do

• Deliver small- to medium-scale refinery projects in collaboration with operations, maintenance, technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Manage groups of small projects from FEL 0/1 through detailed design within EPC projects.
• Develop project plans and feasibility studies supporting refinery design, improvement, and maintenance.
• Manage project resources, costs, forecasts, variances, and performance updates.
• Evaluate proposed solutions, contribute to design validation, and identify project risks.
• Support field and site-maintenance activities while following health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and organizational standards.

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the United States; U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, or another eligible status is required.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in project development, project engineering, or project management coordination.
• Must be willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to transport articles up to 50 pounds, wear fire-retardant clothing and personal protective equipment, and work safely around machinery, chemicals, hydrocarbons, heat, and harsh weather.

Nice to have

• Engineering, construction management, or another project-management-related degree.
• 10 or more years of relevant project experience.
• At least 5 years of oil and gas or petrochemical industry experience.
• Experience in engineering, construction execution, project controls, or construction-related field activities.
• Strong communication, negotiation, written communication, and presentation skills.
