Structural Engineering Intern

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States. The role is primarily office-based, with remote flexibility when needed.

What you will do

• Support senior structural engineers with reinforced concrete, foundation, and structural steel designs.
• Assist with project scopes, engineering estimates, capital cost estimates, and repair methodologies.
• Apply civil and structural engineering principles to design problems in multidisciplinary projects.
• Develop repair designs for structures and components using standard engineering techniques.
• Prepare detailed designs and drawings from project notes and specifications.
• Coordinate with technicians, engineers, senior engineers, and designers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Working knowledge of structural steel, concrete, and foundation design is relevant to the role.
• Applicants must submit an official or unofficial academic transcript.
• Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not provided.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of AISC and ACI codes.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
• Previous co-op or internship experience.
