Structural Project Engineer (Construction Engineering)

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, United States of America. The role includes travel within the United States and internationally.

What you will do

• Implement engineering project direction set by the Project Manager and communicate with clients to clarify requirements.
• Analyze and design structural systems for buildings using applicable building codes and multiple construction materials.
• Design structural steel connections, from simple shear connections to complex multi-member connections.
• Perform temporary stability analysis, including alternate load paths and temporary bracing for partially erected steel structures.
• Prepare contract documents using Revit and coordinate project deliverables.
• Manage design activities, supervise engineers and modelers, direct project staff, and participate in project QA/QC.

Requirements

• Degree in structural engineering or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer license.
• At least four years of structural engineering experience.
• Working knowledge of SAP2000, ETABS, RAM, RISA-3D, PCA Software, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Ability and willingness to travel within the United States and internationally.
