TL;DR
Driver (Security and Student Transportation): Operating center vehicles and transporting students to training, work-based learning, activities, appointments, and designated arrival points with an accent on vehicle safety, accountability, and security support. Focus on maintaining vehicles, monitoring center grounds and access points, responding to alarms and disturbances, and preparing accurate incident and vehicle reports.
Location: Dayton, Ohio, USA. Onsite, second shift.
Salary: USD 23–23.68 per hour.

What you will do
- Operate center vehicles and transport students to and from the center, work-based learning, off-center training, activities, and medical appointments.
- Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean, safe, and mechanically serviceable condition.
- Support student, staff, building, vehicle, and property safety through patrols, access checks, gate and desk coverage, and security procedures.
- Test and respond to fire and intrusion alarms, report malfunctions, and assist with emergency response.
- Assist safety staff and law enforcement with disturbances, searches, seizures, preliminary investigations, and incident reports.
- Maintain accurate vehicle, student-accountability, security, and corrective-action records.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and two years of related experience; an associate degree in criminal justice may substitute for experience.
- At least one year of driving experience and an unencumbered CDL.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair, security operations, relevant procedures, and emergency equipment.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to mentor and monitor student behavior.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
- Authorization to work in the United States, a successful post-offer background check, and a drug test are required.
Nice to have
- One year of experience in firefighting, law enforcement, safety, or security.
- Previous experience working with youth.
- Associate degree in criminal justice.
