Spacecraft Build Engineer (Aerospace Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Develop and qualify manufacturing processes for spacecraft components and assemblies.
• Design and implement precision tooling and fixtures to improve quality, repeatability, and cycle time.
• Optimize production processes, reduce takt time, increase throughput, and improve yield.
• Automate manufacturing and inspection processes and support factory layout and manufacturing system development.
• Lead the transition of hardware from development into production and partner with design engineering on design for manufacturability.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing and integration issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing, materials, or a related engineering field.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, production, or process engineering for complex hardware systems.
• Experience with manufacturing process development and high-rate production environments.
• Strong understanding of welding, machining, forming, fastening, bonding, and related manufacturing techniques.
• Experience designing tooling and fixtures with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, NX, or similar, plus DFM/DFMA experience.
• Hands-on experience assembling, integrating, or testing mechanical or aerospace systems, with the ability to resolve production issues in fast-paced environments.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with high-rate or mixed-product manufacturing lines, weld process development, inspection automation, robotics, or controls.
• Experience with propulsion, avionics, or structural system integration and testing.
• Experience using SQL or similar data systems, failure analysis, PFMEA, or production system optimization.
• Hands-on experience working directly with technicians on hardware builds.
