Sensors Team Internship (Spring or Summer 2027)

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office.

A fast-growing aerospace startup manufacturing satellite buses at scale through software, vertical integration, and manufacturing-focused hardware.

What you will do

• Design, prototype, build, and test spacecraft sensor systems.
• Develop mechatronic systems involving sensors, controllers, actuators, and development microcontrollers.
• Prototype and test space hardware and ground support equipment.
• Contribute to manufacturing and process automation.
• Complete an assigned project with guidance from a dedicated mentor and collaborate with the broader engineering team.

Requirements

• Graduating in Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
• Pursuing a BS or MS in aerospace, systems, electrical, mechanical, computer, or software engineering, applied physics, or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in the engineering design process.
• Familiarity with mechatronics, controllers, actuators, and development MCUs such as Arduino.
• At least 3 months of technical experience outside the classroom through laboratory work, research, personal projects, internships, or engineering project teams.
• Available for a full-time, 10–12 week onsite internship beginning in March 2027 or June 2027, with the ability to pause or adjust academic commitments.
