Electrical Engineer Intern - Fall 2026 (Avionics)

Location: Torrance, California, United States. This is an onsite internship for Fall 2026. U.S. Person status is required due to ITAR regulations. Access to classified information or restricted U.S. government sites may require a security clearance or additional government authorization.

What you will do

• Own circuit board designs from specifications and architecture through schematics, layout collaboration, bring-up, and validation.
• Design and integrate analog and digital circuits, processors, sensors, and power electronics.
• Collaborate with PCB layout, firmware, mechanical, systems, and test teams.
• Rapidly iterate hardware designs as system requirements evolve.
• Document design decisions, calculations, schematics, validation results, and technical learnings.
• Support system bring-up, debugging, and laboratory and hardware-in-the-loop test campaigns.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design principles.
• Experience selecting PCB components and creating schematics.
• Familiarity with PCB bring-up and debugging.
• Exposure to MATLAB, Python, C/C++, or similar modeling and analysis tools.
• Knowledge of serial communication protocols such as CAN, Ethernet, SPI, or I2C; U.S. Person status is required.

Nice to have

• Project or internship experience designing and testing PCBAs for aerospace, robotics, automotive, or other high-reliability applications.
• Familiarity with mixed-signal design, power electronics, or RF systems.
• Interest in working in a startup environment on high-impact projects.
