Test Engineering Intern Spring 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, United States; full-time on-site work required for at least 12 consecutive weeks beginning in January, February, or March 2027.

Pay rate: $25.00 USD per hour. A relocation stipend may be available.

What you will do

• Support Archimedes rocket engine test operations at the Stennis site.
• Participate in engine rebuilds, test readiness activities, and hardware swaps.
• Support activation and operation of test facilities.
• Collaborate with propulsion teams on test procedures and sequencing for the Neutron vehicle.
• Apply engineering concepts to solve practical challenges in a fast-paced test environment.
• Work with mentors and supervisors through regular progress reviews and technical learning activities.

Requirements

• Current enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctorate engineering program, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
• Relevant fields include electrical, mechanical, or aerospace engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or above.
• At least 3 months of applied engineering experience through internships, laboratories, or personal/team projects.
• Ability to work full-time on-site for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• For U.S. office work, eligibility under U.S. space technology export regulations is required, including qualifying citizenship, permanent residence, refugee/asylee status, or required government authorizations.

Nice to have

• GPA of 3.5 or above.
• At least 6 months of applied engineering experience.
• Experience with SolidWorks, MATLAB, Siemens NX, Python, or Java.
• Computer-aided design and manufacturing, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, or pressurized systems experience.
