Risk Management Intern

Location: Downtown Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work model with at least four days per week in the office. The internship lasts 12 weeks and starts in early Summer 2027.

Base pay: $22.00 USD per hour.

What you will do

• Generate, reconcile, and analyze key risk management metrics.
• Participate in strategy meetings and prepare data for annual policy renewals.
• Review and monitor insurance documentation, agreements, and compliance information.
• Support the Safety function by creating and distributing loss control materials.
• Research risk management data, develop recommendations, and prepare KPI reports.
• Gain exposure to property, casualty, management liability insurance, surety markets, and roles including Broker, Actuary, Claims Administrator, and Underwriter.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Risk Management and Insurance or a related field.
• Strong academic performance; a minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
• Experience working with data, interpreting results, and making recommendations.
• Strong attention to detail, written and verbal communication, organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and experience using AI tools to improve workflows.
• Ability to work in the downtown Chicago office for 12 weeks, starting in early Summer 2027, under a hybrid model with at least four office days per week.
