Operations Planning and Simulation Analyst Intern

Location: White River Junction, VT, United States. The role is primarily office-based, with remote work available when needed. Employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not provided.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Learn about rail vehicles, signaling, and transportation operations from industry experts.
• Study and analyze transportation networks, benchmark rail system capacity, and support operational planning.
• Assist Project Managers, Directors, Analysts, Senior Engineers, and Designers on infrastructure projects.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to support decision-making on major projects.
• Contribute to detailed design, drawings, project assignments, and coordination with technicians and engineers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration, computer science, data analytics, engineering, environmental science, physics, planning, policy, or a related field.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong interest in transportation systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Transcript, official or unofficial, must be submitted with the application.
• Must be able to work from the White River Junction, VT office; visa sponsorship and STEM OPT are not available.
