Electrical Engineering Intern (Power Systems)

Location: Tampa, Florida, United States; primarily in-office with remote flexibility when needed

What you will do

• Assist electrical engineers with load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protective device coordination, and transient stability studies.
• Prepare equipment procurement specifications, construction contract documentation, technical reports, drawings, and detailed design materials.
• Develop knowledge of power distribution, instrumentation and controls, switchgear, standby power, SCADA, telemetry, lighting systems, and NEC compliance.
• Coordinate with technicians, engineers, senior engineers, and designers on multidisciplinary projects.
• Gain practical on-site and office-based experience while supporting complex projects.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering, with an interest in controls or computer science.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams, apply technical knowledge to practical problems, and learn quickly.
• Commitment to engineering excellence, safety, critical thinking, creative problem solving, and continuous development.
• Transcript submission is required with the application.

• Previous co-op or internship experience.
