Electrical Engineering Intern - Summer 2027

Location: On-site in Waukesha, Pewaukee, or plant locations throughout Wisconsin, USA. The internship runs full-time from May/June through August 2027, with potential travel to other facilities.

Power equipment manufacturer developing generators, power tools, energy storage solutions, and related electrical systems.

What you will do

• Design, validate, and support new generator and power tool products.
• Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, material specifications, and bills of materials.
• Define functional requirements and design, test, and integrate standard electrical and electronic components.
• Evaluate product effectiveness, cost, reliability, risk, and safety.
• Develop and execute fitness-for-use testing, product specifications, and process validation plans.
• Collaborate with manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Understanding of basic electrical concepts and ability to read and interpret electrical and electronic schematics.
• Experience with programming languages that communicate with electronic hardware.
• Clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week, during the summer internship.
• Completion of sophomore year is preferred.
