Senior AI Scientist (Biometrics)

Location: Austin, Texas, or Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to reside and work in the hiring country. Remote work or international relocation outside the hiring country is not considered.

What you will do

• Design, develop, train, evaluate, and optimize AI and deep learning models for biometric applications.
• Build image processing, video analytics, biometric signal processing, feature extraction, and model evaluation pipelines.
• Develop computer vision pipelines using visible, infrared, multispectral, thermal, depth, polarization, and other image modalities.
• Manage end-to-end model lifecycles from research through deployment on edge devices, embedded systems, and cloud environments.
• Implement MLOps practices, including model monitoring, validation, retraining, performance tracking, and explainability.
• Collaborate with compliance, product, universities, external partners, and third-party providers on innovation, standards, publications, and patents.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Signal Processing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of industry, research, or postdoctoral experience developing and deploying AI models in production.
• Strong experience with Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, Scikit-learn, AWS, and SageMaker.
• Expertise in CNNs, Transformers, Vision Transformers, attention networks, generative AI, multimodal learning, foundation models, and fine-tuning.
• Expertise in image processing, video analytics, optical flow, temporal modeling, image quality analysis, face matching, biometric recognition, presentation attack detection, and liveness detection.
• Applicants must already have legal authorization to reside and work in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with face, fingerprint, iris, palm, and multimodal biometric solutions.
• Knowledge of biometric sensors, image quality assessment, biometric standards, compliance, and benchmarking methodologies.
• Experience with MLOps, software engineering, data engineering, and responsible AI governance.
