TL;DR
Senior Fatigue & Damage Tolerance Engineer (Aerospace): Developing certified structural repair solutions and performing complex fatigue and damage tolerance analyses for Airbus in-service aircraft with an accent on metallic airframe structures, airworthiness, and customer support. Focus on autonomous structural integrity assessments, repair certification documentation, mentoring engineers, and solving complex airline repair queries.

Location: Wichita, Kansas, United States; onsite 90%. Authorized to work in the US is required. The position requires occasional short-notice travel.

What you will do

  • Perform complex fatigue and damage tolerance analyses for metallic aircraft structures using hand calculations and computer methods.
  • Create certified engineering repair solutions and structural justification documentation for the in-service fleet.
  • Ensure repair solutions restore aircraft airworthiness and meet applicable requirements and customer timelines.
  • Collaborate with Design, Static Stress, Repair Design, Customer Services, airlines, and MROs.
  • Mentor less experienced F&DT engineers and contribute to the development of analysis methods, assumptions, data, and procedures.
  • Plan, monitor, and execute engineering tasks while responding to complex repair queries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aero, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 9 years of analysis experience in airframe design or repair programs.
  • Experience with metallic and/or composite airframe structural repair.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and verbal English communication skills are required.
  • Current US work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this US position unless specifically stated.

Nice to have

  • MRO or fleet engineering experience.
  • MRB experience.
  • Proficiency with G-Suite.
  • Python coding experience.
  • Experience working in dynamic engineering teams.
