Assistant Closing Manager (Retail)

Location: Norfolk, VA #0180, United States; onsite retail club operations

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Lead end-of-day execution across Recovery, Utility, Produce, Meat, Bakery, Deli, Dairy/Freezer, and overnight preparation.
• Serve as Manager on Duty when assigned, taking responsibility for club operations, team leadership, and member engagement.
• Maintain clean, stocked, safe, and audit-ready departments through closing and before the morning opening.
• Monitor inventory, product rotation, freshness, merchandising, sanitation, equipment functionality, and safety compliance.
• Coach team members, support onboarding and certifications, and drive productivity and performance improvements.
• Resolve or escalate member concerns and collaborate with club managers and department leads.

Requirements

• Two years of preferred experience in retail, supermarket, or warehouse perishable operations.
• Valid ServSafe Food Safety Certification required and must be maintained.
• High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
• Experience with inventory turnover and waste reduction, plus basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
• Open shift availability and regular, predictable full attendance required.
• Must be at least 18 years old and maintain all required training and certifications.
