Head Chef (Hospitality)

Location: Two Brewers, Chipperfield, Hertfordshire, United Kingdom; onsite kitchen role.

Salary: £34,000–£38,000 per year plus bonus.

hirify.global operates the Two Brewers, a Grade II listed country pub and hotel with 20 bedrooms, approximately 80% occupancy, and a busy pub dining operation.

What you will do

• Lead the kitchen team, set clear expectations, and create a focused, high-performing kitchen culture.
• Maintain food quality, presentation, service, food safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards.
• Manage kitchen operations, busy services, stock takes, ordering, stock rotation, wastage, food costs, and GP.
• Coach, motivate, and develop the kitchen team while working closely with the General Manager and wider management team.
• Support pub dining, hotel guest service, and Sunday roast operations.
• Prepare the kitchen and team for the upcoming refit.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading a busy kitchen as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef.
• Experience in a pub, hotel, or similar food-led hospitality environment.
• Confident, hands-on leadership during service with a firm but fair approach.
• Strong communication, people-management, coaching, and team-development skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, health and safety, stock management, ordering, rotation, wastage, GP, and food costs.
• Ability to stay organised under pressure, make decisions, and plan around busy services.
