Claims Manager (Fleet Operations)

Location: On-site in Los Angeles or San Francisco, United States

Base salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own accident and vehicle-incident claims across all operating markets from first notice of loss through investigation, repair coordination, negotiation, settlement, and closure.
• Build incident intake and triage workflows, including the first 24-hour response process.
• Manage relationships with carriers, third-party administrators, adjusters, and defense counsel.
• Run subrogation and recovery as a dedicated workstream.
• Partner with market leaders to convert accident trends and risk patterns into operational changes.
• Build claims reporting, implement a dedicated claims system, support insurance renewals, and scale the claims team.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in auto, fleet, transportation, or commercial auto claims, including end-to-end ownership of a claims function or program.
• Experience with third-party liability and bodily injury claims.
• Strong claim-file judgment and experience working with TPAs and defense counsel.
• Ability to challenge carriers on reserves and coverage, with multi-state experience including California preferred.
• Methodical approach and ability to build processes where none exist.
• Must be based on-site in Los Angeles or San Francisco.

• AIC, SCLA, ARM, or similar designation.
• Self-insured or large-deductible program experience.
• Fleet, rideshare, delivery, or logistics experience.
• People-management experience.
