Sr. Manager, Development

Location: Toronto, ON; on-site full-time is required, with a hybrid arrangement of 1–3 days per week on-site and remaining days remote.

What you will do

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for the development function across the organization.
• Manage, mentor, and develop multiple teams of software engineers.
• Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of server-side systems, APIs, and databases.
• Monitor service levels, analyze operating environments, and implement corrective actions and improvements.
• Partner with clients, application owners, and internal stakeholders to define, test, and implement application solutions.
• Advise business partners on technology possibilities, requirements, and delivery approaches.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience leading application projects and using modern development methodologies and toolchains.
• Experience with Agile, continuous integration and delivery, DevOps, big data technologies, Apache Spark, streaming technologies, Databricks, and Azure Cloud.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata, data warehousing, Cognos, Informatica, and AutoSys.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a technical discipline.
• Legally eligible to work at the specified location and able to provide a valid work or study permit where applicable.
• Strong people leadership, collaboration, problem-solving, and client relationship skills.

Nice to have

• Azure Cloud and architecture experience.
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker.
• Functional programming experience with Scala.
• Understanding of real-time architecture and migration from batch to streaming concepts.
