Wind Permitting Sr Analyst

Location: United States; remote work or work from hirify.global offices, including San Diego, San Francisco, Louisville, and Salt Lake City

Salary: $87,000–$104,550 per year, plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Evaluate potential project sites through preliminary site reviews, due diligence, and environmental, permitting, and land-use constraint analyses.
• Support permitting for utility-scale wind, solar, energy storage, and other renewable energy projects across local, state, and federal jurisdictions.
• Coordinate technical studies, environmental assessments, consultants, contractors, vendors, schedules, deliverables, and budgets.
• Prepare project documentation and compliance packages for handoff to construction and operations teams.
• Engage with community stakeholders, elected officials, regulatory agencies, and external partners.
• Track project risks, permits, records, invoices, and mitigation activities while gradually taking ownership of project workstreams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, biology, geography, natural resources, planning, environmental studies, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Approximately 2+ years of experience in permitting, environmental compliance, environmental consulting, project development, land-use planning, natural resources, or a related field.
• Familiarity with environmental permitting, environmental review, land-use regulations, renewable energy development, or related regulatory frameworks.
• Strong organizational, project coordination, written, verbal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mapping tools such as Google Earth.

Nice to have

• Experience in renewable energy, power generation, environmental consulting, natural resource management, land-use planning, or infrastructure development.
• Experience with federal, state, and local permitting, environmental due diligence, and regulatory compliance programs.
• Knowledge of USFWS Land-Based Wind Energy Guidelines or similar environmental permitting frameworks.
• Experience with GIS, spatial analysis, consultant management, project coordination, or stakeholder engagement.
