Nodes Quality Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Desford, Leicestershire, United Kingdom; onsite role

Salary: £28,969, rising to £30,450 when role objectives are met

Manufactures construction and mining equipment, off-highway engines, industrial gas turbines, and diesel-electric locomotives through global operations.

What you will do

• Maintain and improve the quality of machines produced at the Desford facility.
• Work with operations and team leaders to build effective working relationships.
• Audit machine defects, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.
• Analyze defect data and follow up on Interim and Permanent Corrective Actions.
• Maintain regular contact with US node facilities through daily and weekly meetings.
• Complete work on time, follow company processes, and support work across shifts when required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of quality operations and experience collaborating with operational teams.
• Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving tools.
• Ability to identify root causes and support actions that reduce defects.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills, including leading meetings and presenting updates.
• Ability to work flexibly across shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• Experience working at a quality gate or with machine builds across production lines.
• Familiarity with EPIX, Team Centre, PRWB, or SWES.
