Software Engineering Manager, Identity Protection (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Build globally distributed, fault-tolerant identity threat detection systems for Active Directory attacks, credential theft, and lateral movement across Azure/Entra, Okta, and AWS environments.
• Design real-time detection rules and high-throughput Kafka pipelines with sub-second detection latency.
• Develop a pluggable detection engine and rule framework that transforms authentication telemetry into enriched customer-facing alerts.
• Build machine-learning, behavioral-anomaly, and LLM-based detection capabilities, including AI-driven severity scoring.
• Translate security research into production detections and collaborate with security researchers.
• Own production detections, including observability, latency SLOs, feature-flagged customer rollouts, and incident response.

Requirements

• Mastery of Python, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems; Go experience is strongly valued.
• 6+ years of experience building backend or distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience with event streaming or message-queue architectures such as Kafka and distributed data processing.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, or comparable relational, document, and caching systems.
• Working knowledge of Python, Go, Java, Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Protobuf/gRPC, GraphQL, AWS, and LLM or GenAI tooling.
• BS or MS in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.

Nice to have

• Security or detection engineering background.
• Experience with machine learning for anomaly detection.
• Applied LLM or GenAI experience and the use of AI to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.
