Senior Software Engineer (Java/Scala)

Salary: $187,075–$234,000 per year, plus annual or quarterly performance incentives.

What you will do

• Analyze business and customer requirements, classify gaps, assess risks, and contribute to user stories and solution designs.
• Convert high-level designs into detailed functional logic, mock screens, pseudocode, and production-ready component implementations.
• Develop and configure software components that meet functional, security, availability, scalability, and maintainability requirements.
• Build automation scripts and CI/CD pipelines, implement telemetry, and support testing and quality improvements.
• Create and execute test cases, analyze defects, perform regression testing, and troubleshoot application performance and availability bottlenecks.
• Monitor application metrics and logs, conduct complex maintenance and re-engineering, and evaluate feasible change requests.

Requirements

• Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant computer science or information systems field and 1 year of software engineering experience, or bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Object-oriented development experience with Java and Scala, including functional programming with streams, lambdas, or closures.
• Experience developing REST or SOAP APIs and working with SQL databases.
• Experience processing large-scale data streams with Hadoop and Spark, and building data pipelines with Kafka.
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins or Hudson, JUnit, Cassandra or HDFS, and logs and metrics analysis tools.
• Experience with machine learning algorithm implementation, multithreading, futures or actor models, performance optimization, and distributed systems.
