Railway Commissioning Engineer/Technician

Location: Lausanne, Switzerland; international field assignments with high international mobility required

Swiss company specializing in the design, manufacturing, commissioning, and maintenance of railway construction and track maintenance machinery.

What you will do

• Commission, test, and adjust railway machines at customer sites.
• Diagnose technical issues and perform troubleshooting and repairs.
• Work with electrotechnical, automation, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel-engine systems.
• Verify sensors, measurement systems, and onboard digital equipment.
• Provide technical support to users and local teams.
• Prepare intervention reports and escalate complex issues to engineering teams.

Requirements

• Higher technical education in electrotechnics, automation, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Previous railway-industry experience is required.
• Experience in commissioning, maintenance, field service, or troubleshooting complex machinery.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in the field.
• Professional English is required.
• High international mobility and readiness for regular international travel are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of measurement systems, LiDAR, or digital technologies applied to railway equipment.
• French, German, Italian, or another additional language.
