Principal Analyst - Corporate & External Affairs (Fintech): Shaping FIS’s European public-policy strategy and representing the company before EU institutions on payments, technology, digital assets, AI, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty, with an accent on regulatory engagement and executive advisory. Focus on building institutional coalitions, translating EU legislation into commercial guidance, developing advocacy positions, and directing external government-affairs consultants.
Location: Dublin, Ireland; travel to Brussels and other European capitals as needed

What you will do
- Build and maintain relationships with the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU, national authorities, trade associations, and other institutional stakeholders.
- Monitor and engage on EU legislation and regulation covering the Digital Euro, PSD3, the EU AI Act, DORA, MiCA, data privacy, cybersecurity, and digital sovereignty.
- Represent in EU trade associations and develop policy positions, briefing materials, consultation responses, and legislative engagement strategies.
- Translate policy developments into commercial guidance for European sales teams and client engagements, including technology sovereignty matters and RFPs.
- Advise senior leaders and coordinate EU advocacy with global public policy and regulatory legal teams.
- Manage external government-affairs consultants and oversee policy project deliverables, progress, and stakeholder alignment.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in EU public policy, government affairs, or related government and institutional roles.
- Deep understanding of EU legislative and regulatory processes and the roles of the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of the EU, and European Supervisory Authorities.
- Knowledge of payments, financial services, and/or technology sectors, including DORA, MiCA, PSD3, and the EU AI Act.
- Proven ability to build relationships across EU institutions, national delegations, and industry coalitions.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, verbal, and executive communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with sound judgment in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
