Sr. Staff Platform Operations Engineer (Linux)

What you will do

• Architect, deploy, and support on-premise and cloud-based Linux infrastructure and core IT services, including virtualization, bare metal, storage, and DNS.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation frameworks using Terraform, Ansible, Foreman/MaaS, GitHub, and scripting.
• Automate system security practices such as patching, hardening, configuration management, and compliance controls.
• Build deployment pipelines for infrastructure services, system images, configurations, and platform services.
• Administer Dell PowerStore and Pure Storage arrays, covering provisioning, capacity, performance, upgrades, data protection, and high availability.
• Work as a technical SME with IT Systems, CloudOps, Security, and Engineering teams; participate in on-call support, documentation, and mentoring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or 8+ years of equivalent experience in a large-scale enterprise environment.
• Expert-level Linux systems administration experience with Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu, and common CLI tools.
• Strong Python and shell scripting skills for systems automation, tooling, and integration.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code, including Terraform and Ansible, and version control with GitHub/Git.
• Experience managing hybrid infrastructure, including on-premise virtualization or OpenStack, networking, public cloud services, and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on enterprise storage administration experience and strong networking fundamentals covering TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewalls.

Nice to have

• Red Hat, Terraform, or public cloud certifications.
• Knowledge of cryptography, PKI, operational security, regulated environments, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, Docker, Kubernetes, or project management.
• Previous experience mentoring junior team members.
