Laboratory Manager (Plastics Recycling)

Circular Plastics Australia, part of hirify.global, develops local plastic recycling facilities that convert used bottles and containers into new bottles and packaging.

What you will do

• Oversee laboratory operations, including quality control testing, data analysis, equipment maintenance, and sample management.
• Implement and maintain rigorous quality control standards and procedures.
• Coordinate laboratory data collection, analysis, reporting, and trend monitoring.
• Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained and calibrated.
• Coordinate training on testing methods, equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality control protocols.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality control, and management teams on quality issues and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Experience in laboratory management or leadership, preferably in plastics or recycling.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and equipment, including spectrophotometers, rheometers, and mechanical testing machines.
• Experience with Good Laboratory Practice and quality management systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and quality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
• Significant relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
