Assembly Technician - Optics Team

What you will do

• Assemble, calibrate, and test electronic and optical assemblies.
• Prepare and splice polarization-maintaining optical fibre.
• Bond and seal products using adhesives.
• Work with Engineering R&D to develop and document optical assembly processes and techniques.
• Manage optical and electrical component inventory and perform basic equipment maintenance.
• Pack semi-finished goods and support product quality inspections.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in optical assembly within a precision manufacturing environment.
• Experience with PM fibre and high-accuracy fusion splicers.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and work instructions.
• Visual and mechanical dexterity for handling, cleaning, inspecting, and splicing small optical components.
• Knowledge of WHS practices, quality assurance, and process problem-solving.
• General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook, plus strong communication and attention to detail.
