What you will do

• Direct an engineering group responsible for complex issues across a business-unit product line.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of complex engineering programs within budgets and release schedules.
• Anticipate future engineering needs and develop new design and development approaches.
• Create long-range engineering plans, product strategies, and engineering specifications.
• Interface with internal and external customers on product engineering issues.
• Lead engineering managers, define performance metrics, and report progress against business-unit goals.

Requirements

• Broad and comprehensive understanding of engineering systems, theories, and practices.
• Broad industry and commercial awareness supporting financial and operational performance.
• Experience leading through subordinate managers of managers and contributing to functional strategy.
• Ability to resolve highly complex or unusual business problems using advanced analytical judgment.
• Ability to negotiate and influence senior executives and external organizations.
