Materials Engineer

Location: Singapore-Yishun

What you will do

• Manage assigned material commodities and supplier performance across quality, reliability, cost, delivery, and supply continuity.
• Work with Procurement, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Logistics, Production, Compliance Engineering, and global suppliers.
• Reduce field defects, production non-conformances, incoming-material risks, and workmanship issues through analysis and continuous improvement.
• Support NPI through material selection, BOM setup, supplier resourcing, manufacturability reviews, and qualification of alternative materials.
• Lead supplier capacity expansion, manufacturing-site transfers, engineering change management, and asset management activities.
• Drive VAVE, annual material cost savings, new capability exploration, and assurance-of-supply initiatives covering shortages, end-of-life materials, and tariffs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Materials Engineering or related engineering roles.
• Strong collaboration skills across R&D, Manufacturing, Production, Procurement, and supplier organizations.
• Systematic problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
• Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, trend charts, and statistical analysis.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.
