Software Engineer (PHP/Fintech)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and integrations for payment transaction flows.
• Build scalable and resilient components for high-throughput and concurrent transaction processing.
• Support merchant integrations, payment routing, settlement workflows, and financial data services.
• Maintain legacy systems and contribute to platform modernization, performance optimization, and secure coding practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and improve monitoring, alerting, deployment validation, and service reliability.
• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Integration, and R&D teams through Agile delivery, code reviews, documentation, and AI-assisted engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong experience with the LAMP stack: Linux, Apache, MySQL/MariaDB, and PHP, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, integration services, and data processing components.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms, database performance, query optimization, asynchronous or queue-based workflows, scalability, and reliability.
• Experience with Git, Agile development, troubleshooting, and analytical problem-solving.

Nice to have

• Experience in payment gateways, fintech, banking, or other high-transaction platforms.
• Knowledge of payment integrations, reconciliation workflows, or financial reporting systems.
• Experience with AWS or GCP, Docker or Kubernetes, Redis, CouchDB, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, Kafka, or observability tools.
• Exposure to AI coding assistants, automation tools, or developer productivity platforms.
