Cell Culture Development Associate Scientist (Biopharma)

What you will do

• Execute upstream cell culture process development experiments under general supervision.
• Perform cell separation and harvest experiments involving centrifugation and depth filtration.
• Set up, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory bioreactor automation systems.
• Prepare experimental protocols, troubleshoot common cell culture challenges, and write technical reports.
• Collaborate with upstream, cell line development, and technology development teams on scalable production technologies.
• Present experimental results and contribute to process improvement initiatives while following HSE, laboratory, data integrity, and documentation requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, bioprocessing, biotechnology, microbiology, molecular biology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 months of experience or equivalent exposure to cell culture or biological laboratory work, including coursework, undergraduate research, or internships.
• Working knowledge of aseptic technique.
• English proficiency.
• Applicants must be residents of the United States or Puerto Rico and work onsite in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-throughput cell culture models, shake flasks, ambr15, or benchtop bioreactors.
• Experience with ambr250 bioreactors.
• Experience with centrifugation or depth filtration for cell separation and harvest.
• Experience using AI tools for literature review, data analysis, or technical writing.
