Associate Scientist, Bioprocess Development (Biologics)

Location: Lebanon, New Hampshire, United States; full-time, in-person presence required. Minimal travel expected.

Salary: $103,000–$131,000 annual

What you will do

• Support the development and execution of upstream bioprocess capabilities across biotherapeutic programs from early discovery through preclinical CMC.
• Perform hands-on experiments with microbial and mammalian expression systems, including E. coli, CHO, and HEK.
• Maintain cell cultures, prepare media, and operate bench-scale bioreactors.
• Help establish, maintain, and operate research bioprocess development laboratories.
• Write and follow experimental protocols and SOPs, and document results in electronic laboratory notebooks, presentations, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with Discovery, Analytical, Technical Operations, and Preclinical Development teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, biology, biochemistry, or a related field with 3+ years of industry experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of industry experience.
• Required experience with upstream bioprocessing, cloning, molecular biology, microbial fermentation, and mammalian cell culture.
• Required experience producing proteins in E. coli.
• Experience operating bench-scale bioreactors and using standard laboratory techniques and data analysis tools.
• Strong attention to detail, scientific rigor, and clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AMBR 250 multi-parallel bioreactors.
• Experience with downstream processing.
• Familiarity with enzymes, monoclonal antibodies, engineered proteins, or other biologic modalities.
• Familiarity with protein production in yeast.
