Principal Research and Development Engineer, Dispensing

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; the description also references the hirify.global team in Carlsbad, California, United States. Onsite manufacturing environment with approximately 20% travel.

What you will do

• Generate, evaluate, select, and develop innovative dispensing solutions based on emerging trends and latent market needs.
• Develop new concepts from initial design through market release.
• Initiate and execute technical investigations, laboratory experiments, and feasibility studies using scientific and engineering principles.
• Coordinate interdepartmental and global research efforts and support the product development pipeline.
• Contribute to product roadmaps, user experience definition, scientific publications, conferences, and patent applications.
• Interact with executives and key customers, present complex technical information, and potentially lead large-scope projects.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree, or a master's degree with more than ten years of related experience.
• Broad experience applying professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues creatively and effectively.
• Strong foundational knowledge of physical sciences and engineering disciplines.
• Ability to analyze scientific and technical journals, financial reports, legal documents, and complex mathematical or statistical concepts.
• Ability to communicate complex information to executives, top management, customers, regulatory agencies, and public groups.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment involving moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and occasional electrical hazards.

Nice to have

• Practical experience with fluid dynamics, machine design, machine learning, or design of experiments.
