Software Engineering Group Manager- Artificial Intelligence

What you will do

• Lead a large-scale AI engineering organization and manage multiple engineering groups, projects, and workstreams.
• Define and execute the AI engineering roadmap across AI applications, machine learning platforms, generative AI, and intelligent automation.
• Oversee the architecture, development, deployment, and lifecycle delivery of secure, scalable, production-ready AI solutions.
• Establish engineering standards, reusable frameworks, SDLC practices, automated testing, CI/CD, release management, and cloud-native development approaches.
• Manage workforce planning, hiring, budgeting, capacity, resource allocation, and career development for engineering teams.
• Partner with executives, product, architecture, data, infrastructure, and business stakeholders to set technology strategy and deliver measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of industry-relevant experience in software engineering, data engineering, or technology leadership.
• At least 5 years of management experience leading moderate- to large-scope engineering organizations and technical leaders.
• Proven experience delivering enterprise AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, architecture patterns, cloud-native development, security, resiliency, observability, and governance.
• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
• Must work in-office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; employment visa sponsorship and STEM OPT participation are not available.

Nice to have

• Banking or financial services experience.
• Experience with technology transformation, innovation initiatives, and regulated-industry risk management.
• Master’s degree, PhD, or relevant certifications.
