Robotics Test & Reliability Engineer III

Location: San Jose, CA, United States; onsite attendance required

Salary: $120,000–$155,000 per year; 5% bonus

What you will do

• Tune robot control systems to improve performance.
• Generate and execute functional and reliability test plans for single-link and multi-link robots and controllers.
• Perform firmware regression testing and collaborate with software engineering to resolve technical issues.
• Design, fabricate, validate, qualify, and set up test equipment, jigs, fixtures, and automated test scripts.
• Collect and analyze test data, present findings, troubleshoot failures, and determine product root causes.
• Implement corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, 5S methodologies, and lean practices in the lab.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in testing and reliability engineering, data acquisition, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, general engineering concepts, and quality principles.
• Basic scripting and programming skills in Python, C++, or MATLAB.
• Proficiency with instrumentation and computer tools for data collection, including serial data loggers.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, work with limited supervision, lift 50 pounds unassisted, and travel domestically and internationally up to 5%.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics or semiconductor equipment.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge or certification.
• Experience with laser trackers, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Pro-E, or NX.
• Hi-Lo equipment experience and certification.
